Clare and I have been riding our e-Moultons for around 3 years and are still loving them. While we have a number of cycles, we use the Moultons when we're tired, need to get somewhere far away real quick and, to be honest, when we should be riding a standard cycle, just for the fun, for the constant tail wind feeling.
Also a great service from ARCC when we had a couple of minor issues, good telephone advice and they changed a battery when it conked out.
So, if you can afford it, well worth every penny.
It features an innovative power unit that senses when the rider is in need of an extra push and delivers it via a 250w motor built into the front wheel hub. Take it to Le Mans and you'd be the envy of the campsite as you cruise effortlessly around La Sarthe....while it has a conventional torque sensor power output mode - meaning power increases in line with the rider's exertion - it also has a built in accelerometer. This, coupled with clever software, means it can recognise hills and gradients and then provide automatic compensation by increasing and decreasing power delivery.
The bike would make a great tourer or commuter...the Bafang front hub motor gives fairly powerful, torque-sensor smooth assist up hills, and it compares well to other motors of the same size.
We have tried several versions of this lightweight and high-tech system before and liked it very much - but this time it is fitted to an absolute classic of bike design, the Moulton...put these two together and you have an eBike that does what very few others can do. ARCC have managed to blend superb quality with great practicality and long term sustainability of the Moulton TSR Electric.
The Moulton TSR with pod marries two sophisticated designs: one a classic English bicycle design dating back to the 1960s, the other a high-quality, modern electric assist...an added bonus is that the frame splits to cater for occasional storage and transport needs. The combination of Moulton's unique rubber suspension and ARCC's smooth power delivery produces an eBike that glides rapidly along.
